Claudia Dionne is a Midwest-based artist and journalist residing in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Originally from Nova Scotia, Canada, she is known for her work in oil painting, with a focus on portraiture, still life, and Old Master reproductions. Her paintings are distinguished by an impressionistic sensibility, a richly saturated palette, and a confident, painterly approach, often realized on a larger scale.
Dionne’s foundation in technique and brushwork is rooted in her early training in Eastern art, particularly Sumi pen and ink, which she began studying in 1990. Since turning her focus to oil painting in 1992, she has continued to refine her craft, developing a distinctive style that balances technical precision with expressive depth.
She holds dual degrees in Fine Arts and is an active member of both the Arts Alliance and the Portrait Society of America. Today, Dionne dedicates her practice to exploring a wide range of subjects through the enduring medium of paint.
